Health Benefits
Consuming berries have been shown to support the growth of the beneficial bacterial species, Akkermansia muciniphila which produces mucin.
Mucin protects the lining of the gastrointestinal tract, which may reduce inflammation in the large intestine. (1)
Studies have also associated the regular consumption of blueberries with the reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and improved weight maintenance. (2)
There’s no better reason to incorporate berries more regularly into your diet.
