Overnight Berry oats

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rolled or quick oats

Almond milk brand recommendation: I recommend the Pureharvest brand which provides a good source of Calcium per serve and is free of thickeners making it more gut friendly
Coeliac friendly oats: Opt for the Gloriously Free gluten free oats if you are coeliac and tolerate oats.

  1. Add the rolled oats to a jar along with the unsweetened almond milk and berries.
  2. Stir to combine. Cover and place in the fridge overnight, or for at least eight hours. Enjoy!

Health Benefits

Consuming berries have been shown to support the growth of the beneficial bacterial species, Akkermansia muciniphila which produces mucin.

Mucin protects the lining of the gastrointestinal tract, which may reduce inflammation in the large intestine. (1)

Studies have also associated the regular consumption of blueberries with the reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and improved weight maintenance. (2)

There’s no better reason to incorporate berries more regularly into your diet.
